Town Twinning was established after the Second World War to promote friendship and cooperation.

Our twin towns.

Leamington Spa, United Kingdom

Frequently featured in Britain’s top places to live, Leamington is a beautiful and busy regency town whose charm and grace are rooted in its beginnings as a Victorian Spa. We’re proud of our mini oasis that is Jephson Gardens and the town’s staggering number of special little cafés and galleries. Such hotspots reflect the town’s cultural, creative and artistic character.

Brühl, Germany

Brühl was the residence of the Prince Bishops of Cologne. In the 18th century, the Prince Bishop Clemens August replaced a former ruined castle and built the Augustusburg and Falkenlust palaces near the City Centre. Today both are listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Sceaux, France

Just outside Paris, Sceaux is perhaps most famous for the Château de Sceaux, set in its large grounds. This second Versailles is accompanied by a bursting number of historic sites and architectural gems. Today, the town plays host to a number of vibrant cultural events. and in 2019, Leamington celebrated its 50th Twinning Anniversary with Sceaux.

Today, our links with Brühl, Germany and Sceaux, France are grown and strengthened through exchange visits that celebrate the friendships we have made.

If you are passionate about friendships and relationships with Europe and recognise the benefits twinning can bring, why not join us?

Increasingly, we have been involving more young people and students. When possible, arrangements are made with half-terms and holidays in mind.

Twinning is not just about going on trips. It is about creating and then nurturing long-term relationships with others around Europe, through these special historical links.
